Medical-Legal Expertise First.
AI-Assisted Efficiency Second.
We didn't start as an AI company. We started as a medical-legal documentation company, and that difference is exactly why our AI output audit service works.
Long before AI drafting tools reshaped how personal injury firms produce demand letters and medical chronologies, LinksToValue, the parent company of FactAssess, was already doing the underlying work: reviewing medical records, building treatment chronologies, and drafting demand letters for U.S. personal injury firms and attorneys. That experience, 14+ years of hands-on medical-legal document review, is the foundation everything we do today is built on, including the AI output audit services we now offer.
We're not a startup that bolted an AI verification layer onto a product with no track record behind it. We're a medical-legal documentation team that watched AI drafting tools enter the market and recognized, faster than most, exactly where they'd need independent human verification to be trustworthy.
Our approach is simple: medical-legal expertise first, AI-assisted efficiency second, and human quality control throughout.

Our Founding Story: Expertise Before the AI Wave
LinksToValue, the parent company of FactAssess, was founded in 2012 with a simple mandate: give U.S. personal injury attorneys accurate, defensible medical chronologies and demand letters, without the overhead of building that capability in-house. Long before "AI-generated" was a phrase any personal injury attorney used, our team was manually reviewing medical records, cross-referencing provider notes, calculating damages, and building the chronological narratives that demand letters and case strategy depend on.
That work required, and still requires, real legal-domain and medical-record expertise: understanding ICD coding, recognizing causation gaps, knowing what a life-care cost projection actually needs to hold up, and knowing how a demand letter needs to read to be taken seriously by an adjuster. This is not knowledge you can bolt onto a product overnight. It's built case by case, over years of medical record review experience.
When generative AI tools entered the legal drafting space and started producing demand letters and medical chronologies in minutes, we didn't see a threat to route around. We saw an opportunity. We saw the exact problem our founding expertise was built to solve. AI tools can draft quickly. They can't yet reliably verify their own accuracy against a source medical record the way an experienced human reviewer can. That gap is where our AI output audit service was born.
Why Our Track Record Matters
A lot of companies entering the "AI verification" space today are software-first: built around a detection algorithm, with legal-domain expertise added afterward, if at all. FactAssess built its legal-domain expertise first, over 14 years of medical record review, chronology drafting, and demand letter preparation for personal injury attorneys and law firms, and layered AI-assisted tools and AI output verification onto that foundation afterward, not the other way around.
That ordering matters. Verifying whether an AI-generated demand letter correctly interprets a disputed causation issue, or whether a medical chronology accurately reflects a multi-year, multi-provider treatment history, isn't a task a general-purpose AI detection tool is built for. It requires reviewers who understand personal injury litigation and medical-legal documentation at a practitioner level. That's exactly the team FactAssess built, years before AI output verification was a service category at all.
What We've Learned Working Medical-Legal Documentation, Case by Case
Years of medical record review, demand letter, and medical chronology work across personal injury cases taught us a few things that now shape every AI output audit we perform:
Accuracy is only useful if it's defensible. A document that "looks right" isn't the same as one that traces every claim back to a specific page in the medical record. That distinction matters enormously once a case is challenged.
Complexity doesn't scale down. Catastrophic injury, disputed causation, and multi-year treatment histories require deeper review than routine files. No shortcut, human or AI, changes that.
Speed and accuracy aren't actually in tension. They only feel that way when verification is treated as an afterthought instead of a built-in step.
These are the lessons our AI output audit, complex and catastrophic case review, and AI-augmented standard drafting services are built around today.
Our Approach to AI: Use It. Verify It. Improve It.
We believe the strongest legal AI workflow is not AI-only. It is AI-assisted and human-controlled.
AI is highly effective at processing large volumes of information, organizing records, identifying patterns, and producing first drafts. Human reviewers provide context, source verification, issue spotting, judgment, and accountability.
That is why our philosophy is straightforward:
AI for speed. Human expertise for accuracy. Legal-domain judgment for complexity.
AI Is Changing Legal Work. Our Standards Aren't.
The future of personal injury practice will use AI. We believe the firms that benefit most will combine technology with experience rather than choose one over the other.
We bring medical-legal knowledge, personal injury workflow experience, AI-assisted production, and human quality control together to help law firms work faster without treating raw AI output as finished legal work product.
Experience that predates the AI wave. Applied to verifying it.
